  • Carolyn Davies

    Owner/Pilates Instructor

    Carolyn opened Club Pilates Mira Mesa in January 2013 and 3 months later she opened Club Pilates Eastlake. Carolyn started practicing Pilates 17 years ago and fell in love with it. She had running injuries and very poor posture. Pilates fixed Carolyn’s posture and helped Carolyn with her running injuries and to become a better runner overall. Carolyn decided to open her own Club Pilates using her business background and love of Pilates to inspire and help other people to experience how Pilates changed her life. Club Pilates Mira Mesa/ Eastlake believes in giving back to the community. We offer 10% off all classes for active military and law enforcement. We have participated in Charity drives to raise money for local schools and we have contributed to CCS and ASPCA.

  • Alyson Downey

    Pilates Instructor

    Alyson grew up as an athlete, playing a variety of sports in high school. She also grew up with passion for teaching. After High School, she attended Azusa Pacific University and graduated with a Bachelors' in Human Development and a Masters in Education. Alyson taught Kindergarten until life brought her to San Diego! Never losing her passion for physical fitness, Alyson, was introduced to Pilates and fell in love with its sophisticated approach to fitness. She was pleasantly surprised that Pilates instructors provided assistance with form and had a knowledge of the body. Alyson continued to attend classes and started to learn more about the method and philosophy behind Pilates. Pilates made her feel strong, challenged, and alive ...all while developing muscles uniformly and safely. Alyson quickly looked into Pilates teacher training marring her passion for teaching and fitness. Alyson Completed her Pilates Instructor Training through Club Pilates. She Is a PMA Certified Pilates Instructor. Alyson is Certified through TRX, Barre Above, and has completed Booty Barre training.

  • Elsa Martinez

    Pilates Instructor

    Elsa has been teaching at Club Pilates since 2012. After teaching simultaneously at 9 different CP studios she has now focused entirely on CP Eastlake. Pilates helped her change her life with chronic injuries from running, modeling in high heels and falls from horseback riding. She loves teaching especially her combo Barre/Reformer classes and is fondly known as the Stretchilates Queen at several CP locations. Elsa loves laughing with her students for a good time but is adamant about proper technique and alignment so her students work out safely and efficiently. When not teaching Pilates Elsa sings classical music and in a couple bands, professionally models and acts and loves anything to do with nature, traveling, animals and foreign languages.

    Pilates Instuctor

    Lisa is a San Diego native who found Pilates in 2004 after recovering from an injury. An avid swimmer and yogi, as well as former Crossfit trainer, Lisa loves the rehabilitative aspect of Pilates, as well as the mind body connection it provides. After finding Club Pilates and its wonderful community, Lisa decided to participate in teacher training to pay forward what Pilates has done for her. In her free time Lisa loves to hang out with her family, do anything involving water, and cooking.

    I discovered Pilates while I was earning my Bachelor’s degree in Dance from the University of Washington in Seattle. While dancing abroad in Europe and Israel, I found Pilates training to be an integral part of keeping my body healthy and injury-free. Upon returning to my hometown of San Diego, I decided I wanted to focus on teaching others how to develop and maintain their body’s strength, flexibility, and balance in order to lead healthier, more active lives. In addition to my Pilates teaching certifications, I am also certified to teach Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), a ball-based workout that blends Pilates matwork with ballet floor barre. As an avid anatomy and kinesiology geek, I love watching how people move in space and how their bodies adapt to any physical limitations. As a Pilates instructor, my goal is to help my client overcome these structural restrictions and gain greater range of motion by working with his or her unique anatomy to build strength and increase flexibility through proper technique in order to support a well-aligned body.

    Pilates Instructor

    Robin is a San Diego native who found Club Pilates in 2013. She quickly fell in love with the results she gained and decided to participate in teacher training in 2015. Being a part time Pilates teacher provides her a respite from her regular teaching position as an elementary school teacher. Although teaching kids is her first passion, spreading the joy and results she has gained from Pilates is a close second. When Robin isn't teaching or doing Pilates, she enjoys camping, cooking, reading, and hiking. Most of all, she loves being with her husband, two daughters, dog, and friends.

    Pilates Instructor

    Bri started her Pilates practice when she was 18 years old at Club Pilates. She always had an athletic lifestyle with soccer, gymnastics, cheer, and dance. After graduating high school Bri had the desire to stay fit and got a gym membership but it just wasn’t her style. She struggled with showing up to workout and not really ever knowing what would be best for her goals. That was until she found Pilates, she instantly fell in love. After a week of taking Pilates classes Bri knew becoming a Pilates instructor was going to be a perfect fit for her. She was a dance instructor and was also the head coach for a high school cheer team. Bri is currently studying Kinesiology, the study of human body movement, and will continue to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. What a perfect combination, right? Bri’s favorite exercise in Pilates is the Teaser, of course, on any apparatus. She believes that they are extremely challenging but once you nail it they look so pretty and effortless.Her goal as an instructor is to make sure her client’s leave class feeling strong and proud of what they were able to accomplish during their work out. So come on in and take class with Bri, she can’t wait to meet you!

  • Misha Giardina

    Pilates Instructor

    Misha is a classically trained professional ballet dancer having danced with the Joffrey Ballet School and Oakland Ballet and has taken classes from Master teachers from all over the The United States. Pilates has been an integral part of her dance world starting at the age of 13 with the ballet dancers calling it “Floor Barre,” Better known as Joseph Pilates matt work. Having many knee and ankle injuries, she continually came back to Pilates as part of her physical therapy. When her dance career ended, she continued taking Pilates to stay fit and healthy and also to keep her ballet body. Realizing she loved it so much and how it helped all ages, body types, and injuries, she went on to get her Pilates certification at the department of Dance, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She was Pilates certified and started working at Absolute Pilates in Las Vegas in 2006. Misha’s favorites are Exo chair workouts, booty, and abs!
